Be Honest With Your Legal Counsel

Should you hide anything from your attorney about your car wreck? Hey everyone, Christopher Stevens here certified paralegal with the Wirth Law Office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working in personal injury in Oklahoma. And today we’re going to be talking about whether or not you should hide anything from your attorney about your car wreck.
Now in the past, we’ve worked with quite a few clients who had certain skeletons in the closet that they would have preferred to remain there. A lot of the time, these will take the form of previous injuries or if they didn’t have insurance at the time, a criminal record.
These are all kinds of things that while it’s very understandable why you wouldn’t want them to come out, it’s still important that your legal counsel knows about it.
These are all things that if they know about them beforehand, they can help prepare for them. Worst case scenario is the adjuster or opposing counsel knows about them and keeps them hidden until the opportune time to just spring them upon your legal counsel.
And that’s the worst-case scenario. You do not want that. So instead, whenever you’re sitting down with your legal counsel, consider just being open and honest with them. They’re there to advocate for you.
