Do you need to take pictures of the scene and property damage after a motor vehicle collision? Hey everyone, Christopher Stevens here certified paralegal with the Wirth Law Office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working in personal injury in Oklahoma. Today we’re going to be discussing whether or not you should take pictures after a motor vehicle collision.
Now immediately following the crash, you’re probably going to have quite a bit on your mind. First thing, you’re probably going to check and make sure is everyone okay? Does anyone need immediate medical attention?
But after you’re able to get to a point where you can take a breath and survey the scene, what you might consider doing is taking your phone out and just start taking as many pictures as you can.
Now I’ve had quite a few clients in the past who, thankfully, right after the collision, weren’t transported by an ambulance and they were able to stay around the scene. They just took their phone out and started taking pictures of not only the close-up damage but also of the scene itself.
You can get pictures of the vehicles that haven’t been moved or where the impact happened, the two vehicles smashed together. Anything like that really helps give you a better understanding of the visceral nature of the crash itself.
All of my clients who’ve done that in the past, they’ve gone quite a ways whenever we have to take their case to the insurance company or if it goes into litigation. Then we have those pictures there, and like they always say, pictures are worth a thousand words. As always, if you find yourself looking for a personal injury attorney in Oklahoma in which you need to seek legal help concerning your accident, feel free to contact a Tulsa Personal Injury Attorney.
