Consult an Attorney When Assistance Needed

Should you get the contact information for employees at a store if you have a premises liability incident? Hey everyone, Christopher Stevens here certified paralegal with the Wirth Law Office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working in personal injury in Oklahoma. And today, we’re going to be talking about whether or not you need to get the contact information for the employees at a store if you have a premises liability incident.
Now, one of the things that you can do, after you make sure your immediate medical needs are taken care of, is to see what store employees are around, or maybe, ideally, the ones who were there when the incident happened. And you can just briefly ask them, and always be as polite as you can, “Hey, could I get your contact information?”
Now, most of the time, down the road in your case, you can still get the information of which employees were on shift, but every once in a while an employer doesn’t keep the best records and that list becomes very, very difficult to obtain.
So, you can save a lot of time and headache in your cases by maybe just asking the employees who were on shift at the time, “Hey, can I get your first and last name?” Some of them might not be comfortable giving you their cell phone information or anything like that.
And that’s okay. The first and last name will go a long way in identifying witnesses down the road. I’ve had quite a few clients who that’s made the entire difference in their case.
