Call the Court Clerk as Quickly as Possible
Video Transcribed: What to do when you forget to pay your speeding ticket in Oklahoma. I’m Tulsa Traffic Ticket Attorney James Wirth, and we’ve got some tips for people that may have forgotten to pay for their tickets.
So if you fail to pay your traffic ticket, then a warrant is going to issue for your arrest. A notice of that goes to the Department of Public Safety, and they’re going to revoke your driver’s license. So it’s bad stuff. The sooner you get it resolved, the better.
So the moment you found out that you’re late on that, the first thing you probably want to do is call the court clerk. If you can get in prior to a warrant being issued, you may be able to send that payment in late and avoid all of those repercussions.
However, if that has already happened, you may see if you can still pay to get it all resolved. If they want you to go down there in person, you do risk potentially getting arrested on the warrant. So at that stage, it probably makes sense to get an attorney to resolve it for you because that’s going to be a better option than risking having to be processed on a warrant and have that arrest on your record.
Tips: If you failed to pay your ticket, call the court clerk as quickly as possible, get it resolved as quickly as possible. If you can just pay it and get it taken care of, great.
If not, get an attorney retained to appear for you down there so you can get that warrant resolved, add that matter on and get the case taken care of, get the notice that the warrant’s taken care of back to the Department of Public Safety, contact the Department of Public Safety to make sure your license is reinstated. So you’re good to go.
If you’ve got questions on how this may apply to your circumstances, or maybe you need a little bit of help, you’re going to want to talk to an attorney about your specifics. To get that scheduled, go to makelaweasy.com.
