Gross Income Includes Any Money Received with a Few Exceptions
Video Transcribed: What is gross income for child support in Oklahoma? I’m Oklahoma attorney James Wirth, and we’re doing a series related to Oklahoma child support. And this one deals with the definition of gross income under Oklahoma law.
And gross income is the first thing that you start within determining how much the child support’s going to be, you start with gross income. So what is gross income? Well, it is defined by Statute Title 43, Section 118B, Subsection A1, which says, “Gross income includes earned and passive income from any source except as excluded in this section.”
So essentially, any kind of money or income you’re receiving, they’ve got a category for earned income, they’ve got a category for passive income, all of that together. And then there are certain things that are excluded from gross income.
And I’m going to cover those three things, those three things being earned income, passive income, and the exclusions in the next three videos. But generally speaking, gross income includes all money received from any sources except for a few exceptions for government-funded, like food stamps, child support, things like that.
So if you’ve got any questions about child support, you’re going to want to talk to an attorney about that privately, confidentially. To get that scheduled with somebody at my office, you can go online to makelaweasy.com.
